Design, create and decorate your own Botanical Serving Collection.

During this relaxed four-hour workshop you’ll handcraft a beautiful coordinated collection of three serving platters in different sizes using professional slab-building techniques. Inspired by nature, you’ll personalise each piece with botanical textures and pigments to create a timeless collection that’s both beautiful and functional.

During the workshop you’ll:

• Design and shape three coordinated serving platters in different sizes.

• Learn professional slab-building and finishing techniques.

• Decorate each piece using botanical leaves, textures and stamps.

• Personalise your collection with colour to create personalised finish.

• Enjoy tea, coffee & cake during the workshop.

• Your collection will be professionally glazed and twice fired, ready to use at home within 6 weeks.

A Christmas Houses Pottery Workshop offers a hands-on experience where you'll create your very own charming, holiday-themed ceramic houses. It’s the perfect way to dive into the holiday spirit.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll be guided step-by-step through shaping and crafting luminary Christmas houses—adorable ceramic cottages that can light up your home as decorative pieces, ornaments, or glowing candle holders. With expert instruction, you’ll mold doors, windows, chimneys, snowy rooftops, and even personalise your house with festive touches.

Unique Techniques:

The workshop will introduce fun and beginner-friendly techniques like hand-building with clay slabs. You'll also have tools to texture roofs, add brick walls, or carve delicate snowflakes and designs into your house, making each one uniquely yours.

Glazing & Painting:

Your pieces will be fired and glazed ready to collect within 4-6 weeks.

Skill Level:

Perfect for beginners, this workshop encourages creativity and fun in a laid-back environment. It’s also a fantastic activity for families, couples, or groups of friends to enjoy together during the holiday season!

Workshop Details

Welcome to Clay Café - our relaxed, beginner-friendly pottery workshop where every month brings a new seasonal piece to make.

From handmade coffee mugs and ceramic pumpkins to Christmas decorations, bud vases and berry bowls, each Clay Café session is centred around one featured project, so you'll know exactly what you're coming to create.

We'll guide you step-by-step through hand-building your piece using simple pottery techniques. No wheel, no experience and no need to arrive with an idea - we've already taken care of that bit.

Just choose the monthly project you'd love to make, come along and enjoy an easy-going couple of hours with clay in your hands and a tea or barista coffee by your side.

After Your Workshop

We'll take care of glazing and firing your creation in the studio, ready for you to enjoy at home.

Finished pieces will be ready to collect approximately 4–6 weeks after your workshop, or postage can be arranged for a small additional fee.

Complete beginners are very welcome.

Enjoy a fun and relaxing Pottery Wheel Throwing Day designed especially for beginners. Held at Graylingwell Chapel in Chichester, this hands-on workshop is the perfect introduction to wheel-thrown pottery — friendly, supportive, and creative.

Morning Session (10am–1pm)

Learn the essentials of wheel throwing:

• Centering clay on the wheel

• Pulling walls and shaping forms

• Guided practice to create bowls, tumblers or vases

Afternoon Session (2pm–3pm)

Return to your pieces after a short break to:

• Add decoration using coloured slips

About the Workshop

Join us in our Chichester studio for a fun Pottery Throwing Taster! Perfect for beginners, this hands-on session lets you try the potter's wheel and learn the basics of pottery in a relaxed and friendly setting.
