Our Chichester studio is set in the beautiful grounds of Graylingwell Chapel, a beautiful Grade II listed building with plenty of character and history to inspire creativity.
In this location, we also have an on-site café to enjoy before or after your class. Relax in our chapel café with a 10% discount for pottery customers with a cup of coffee from a local roaster.

Important access note (please read):
Please make sure you approach Graylingwell from the A27 / Barnfield Retail Park side (near Aldi / Sainsbury’s).
If you come from the rugby field / College Lane side, there is a gate that does NOT allow vehicle access through to the car park, so you won’t be able to drive in from that direction.
Coming from the A27 side, you’ll have direct access to the car park and signage for Graylingwell Chapel.

A full-day workshop exploring decorative techniques and surface design.
During the workshop, you’ll design and create two decorative stoneware serving boards before learning a range of surface decoration techniques to bring them to life.
Throughout the day, Sian will demonstrate a selection of professional decorating methods, helping you discover how texture, pattern, colour and mark-making can transform a simple piece of clay into something truly personal.
Techniques may include:
Sgraffito
Slip decoration
Carving and incising
Texture and impressed pattern
Coloured slips
Wax resist
Underglaze decoration
Layering and combining decorative techniques
You’ll leave with two beautifully decorated pieces that will be glazed and fired by us after the workshop.
Perfect for students who are ready to move beyond basic glazing and begin developing their own creative style in clay.
